Serbian team advances to second round leaving just one point to opponents.

 
 
 
 

Crvena Zvezda Beograd, silver medallist of last Serbian league behind defunct HK Beograd, won the First Round of Continental Cup on home ice Pionir Arena, securing the first place after two games, by beating absolute beginner Esja UMFK Reykjavik and last edition winner of first round Zeytinburnu Istanbul, before to celebrate the qualification winning the last thrilling game against Bulgarian Irbis Skate Sofia at overtime, in front of a poor crowd (180 spectators as best attendance during the three days), thanks to a decisive goal by Slovenian forward David Sefic, top scorer of the competition with 8 eight goals (and two assists) in three games, including a record of three goals and two assists in  6-1 victory against Esja in debuting game.

Zeytinburnu Belediyesi SK, dominator of last editions of Turkish Super Lig, finished second, conceeding the first historic point in an European competition to Esja, beated at shoot-outs in the last match

Irbis Skate Sofia, the champion of last two edition of Bulgarian League,finished third: despite the good performance in the last game against Crvena, was decisive the defeat in the first game against Zeytinburnu

Crvena Zvezda will return on ice from 20 to 22 October in Brasov, Romania, for the Continental Cup Second Round, Group C, facing host Corona Wolves Brasov, Erste Liga champion DVTK Miskolc and Spanish Txuri Urdin San Sebastian
