Donbas Donetsk won the forth consecutive title of Ukrainian Hockey League, the seventh in the history of the club, by beating Dnipro Kherson 4-1 in the game #5, closing 4-1 the series, in front of 1162 spectators, a new record for the Altayir Ice Arena, in the city of Druzhkivka, 100 Km north of Donetsk, where the team played since the beginning of conflict in Eastern Ukraine.Winner of the regular season, Donbas knocked out Bilyy Bars Bila Tserkva in the semifinals in five games, while Dnipro, debutant in the League, needs 7 games to eliminate HC Kremenchuk, the main rival of Donbas in the last seasons. The champion began the season with experienced Slovak coach Julius Supler, but he resigned at the end of October after the fiasco in the Continental Cup, where Donbas was eliminated by Latvian champion HK Kurbads Riga. Supler was replaced by Sporting Director Sergei Viter, last season working as headcoach of the team.
