With wins against Kazakhstan, Norway, Denmark, Ukraine and France at Patinoire Pole Sud in Grenoble Germany returns to the highest U18 level. Most of the wins came quite easy. The only time the Germans were in trouble was against Norway in the second game. The Norwegians had a 4-3 lead after two periods but three German goals in the third act secured the win.

In the first game Germany had beaten Kazakhstan 5-2

In the third game Germany faced Denmark who also were undefeated. Denmark had a 2-0 lead after half the game but five unanswered German goals lead to a 5-2 win and a huge step towards the promotion.

The fourth game was an easy 13-1 against Ukraine, who later faced relegation. Germany had a 6-0 lead already after 14:14. The game saw four goals by Filip Varejcka.

Before the final game against the host France, Germany had already secured the tournament but still marched on to a 9-3 win.

Nino Kinder of Germany and Dias Guseinov of Kazakhstan tied for the top scorer title. Tim Stützle finished third but was named best forward of the tournament. Best defenseman was Mabi Dikhanbek of Kazakhstan while Denmark's Frederik Nissen was named Best Goalkeeper.
