Despite the problems with Covid-19 outbreak, the new multi-national tournament will begin at the end of November


Announced firstly in 2018 and then in last July, finally the Baltic Hockey League raises the curtain on November 27.

Six clubs are confirmed: HK Liepāja (Latvia), HK Mogo Riga (Latvia), Hockey Punks Vilnius (Lithuania), Kaunas Hockey (Lithuania), HK Tartu Välk 494 (Estonia) and HC Everest Kohtla-Järve (Estonia), that replaced original partecipant Narva PSK , unable to partecipate due to the covid outbreak

The first round of the Baltic Hockey League will take place on November 27-29

HK Mogo, Kaunas Hockey and Tartu Välk 494 will compete in the group named after Latvian legend Sandis Ozolins. The tournament will take place at Astri Arena in Tartu.

In the group named after Darius Kasparaitis, the gold medalist of the 1992 Olympic Games and best ever Lithuanian player, Hockey Punks, HK Liepāja and Everest Kohtla-Järve compete against each other in Vilnius, at the Pramogu Arena. Each club plays 2 games in the first round and the top 2 from each group advance to the final round

The last round, or Final Four, will take place on 18-20.December in Rēzekne, Latvia.The four best clubs play through each other once and the Baltic Hockey League (BHL) champion will be determined by the final ranking.

A single edition of a clubs' tournament called Baltic Hockey League was played in 2001-2002 season, won by defunct Metalurgs Liepaja
