Kazakhstan mourns one of its most representative player, suddenly died at 38

 
 
 
 

Former player Andrei Troschinski suddenly passed away yesterday at 38. According to preliminary information he suffered a cardiac arrest early in the morning. "When Andrei woke up, felt bad. He immediately called an ambulance, but he arrived dead to the hospital" said a spokesman of Ertis Pavlodar, his last club

One of most representative player of his country, Andrei was a product of Torpedo Ust-Kamenogorsk school, became famous after an hattrick scored against Canada at WJC. Drafted by St. Louis Blues in 1998 with number #170 right before Pavel Datsyuk, Andrei never debuts in NHL, spending two season in AHL at Worcester IceCats before to coming back at Kazzinc Torpedo. He played also for Barys Astana, Arlan Kokshetau, Sary Arka Karaganda and Ertis Pavlodar in Kazakhstan, Gazovik Tyumen and Metallurg Magnitogorsk in Russia, Jesenice and Katowice in Europe, closing his active career last season at Ertis, before becoming assistant coach of Pavlodar team. With national team of Kazakhstan he played at 2006 Olympic Games in Turin and 7 World Championships. He won three medals at the Asian Games, a gold in 1999 and two silver in 2003 and 2007

Andrei was the younger brother of retired defender Alexei Troshchinski
