At the age of 17 years and 22 days, Juraj Slafkovsky was the youngest player ever to dress for the Slovak national team. And that's not enough - he also scored the only goal of the game against Latvia in overtime.

Juraj Slafkovsky, born 2004, today beat Marian Gaborik's record as the youngest player ever of Team Slovakia. Slovakia beat Latvia 1-0 and it was Slafkovsky who got the game winning goal in overtime. After a great effort by Samuel Knažko, Slafkovsky was free at the net and could easily score at only 52 seconds of the extra period.

Slafkovsky has spent the last to seasons in Finland in the junior teams of TPS Turku.

Slovakia also played another young player born 2004 today - Simon Nemec.

The teams also played a game yesterday but then Latvia won in overtime on a goal by Renārs Krastenbergs.
