Despite being a game with no importance for the victory of the Cup, already assigned to Nitra, Angers and Asiago offers to the crowd a nice game, played with a good pace by both team. Asiago, without Michele Marchetti and young Filippo Rigoni, opens the score on powerplay at 05:22 with Nick Saracino completing a quick move between the Italian forwards. Italian goalie Justin Fazio has a lot of work in the period, denying the goal to the Angers forwards. With 10 seconds remaining in the period, Asiago finds the second goal, scored by Allan McShane deflecting a shot from the distance by Gazzola.

The second period begins with a great pressure by Angers on Fazio cage, resulting in the first goal, scored by Tommy Giroux after a great save by Fazio on Charbonneau. The game becomes nervous, with several penalties for both sides and a couple of decisive saves by Fazio. Angers finally ties the game at 37:10 with Jonathan Charbonneau tapping in the open net a rebound by Fazio.

In the last period Angers takes the control of the game finding a real wall in Justin Fazio. The Italian goalie is sensational in protecting his cage with some spectacular saves. The last chance between the overtime is for Asiago but Cowley denied the goal with a decisive save.

The overtime lasts 25 second, until Giordano Finoro finding the net well assisted by Allan McShane, giving Asiago the first victory of the weekend.
