Fischtown Pinguins change coach
Fischtown Pinguins Bremerhaven fired coach Benoit Doucet, hired at the begin of the season, due to poor results of the team. "The decision was humanly difficult, but necessary - said CEO Hauke Hasselbring. "Benoit was perhaps the wrong time at the wrong place. We thank him for his commitment and wish him all the best for the future"

The Sachsen derby Dresdner Eislöwen - Lausitzer Füchse in the German second league, DEL2, was played outdors at the Dresden football stadium in front of 31,853 spectators. The home team won the game 4-3 in overtime.

German 2. Bundesliga club Dresdner Eislöwen has been repeatedly the victim of one or more persons this season who have used the bank account details of third persons to buy a large amount of tickets to damage the club's reputation and its finances. According to the club the amount of money used for illegal ticket purchases is higher than €50.000. The case has been handed to the police while the club has cancelled all the illegal purchases and gave the money back to all people whose bank details had been used.
