Game recap

Dundee Stars responded to a 6-1 thrashing in Glasgow on Friday night with a 6-3 home win over the Clan 24 hours later at the Dundee Ice Arena.

It was a busy start with five goals in the opening 15 minutes. Gabriel Chabot continued his good recent form with the opening goal just 24 seconds into things, but the Stars were back level at 5:05 when a poor turnover by the Clan in their own zone set up Philippe Sanche for a one-timer to equalise.

Gary Haden was the man in front to slot the puck past Anton Svensson off Mathieu Roy's pass at 7:54 to put the Clan back ahead, but just over 30 seconds later Elijah Barriga finished in close to tie things up again. Johan Eriksson came in at the back post to fire home a rebound from a Carter Folk shot to put Dundee ahead with only 14:41 on the clock.

67 seconds into period two, Sanche's pass across the crease deflected past John Muse off Colton Waltz's stick to make it a 4-2 lead for the Stars, before Barriga finished a nice move to score the home side's fifth at 27:58. A fine individual finish from John Dunbar pulled the Clan back to two behind with 11:42 left in the period.

Period three was an end-to-end affair but with very little end product. Svensson made a couple of important saves at key times to keep the Stars ahead into the final two minutes. Clan gambled and pulled Must late on, and despite some 6-on-5 pressure an unfortunate slip from Jordan Cownie in his own zone allowed Ian Parker to slot into the empty net with 91 seconds to play.
