Game recap

Manchester Storm came back from two goals down to earn themselves a point, and then took the bonus one with an overtime winner from captain Cam Critchlow.

After a scoreless opening period, things sprang into life in the middle session.

Dundee took the lead of a Hail Mary pass over the Storm defense that was picked up by Jake Elmer on the blue line before he beat Evan Weninger five-hole with a nice move 99 seconds into period two. With Cam Critchlow sitting for Cross-Checking, Storm responded with another excellent Tyler Hinam shorthanded goal, crossing the zone and firing high past Lucas Brine. The Stars would still lead through 40 minutes, however: a two-on-one break saw Brendan Harms feed Spencer Naas to beat Weninger in front with 2:32 left in the second.

Dundee went two ahead 8:22 into period three as Naas' shot was saved but Brent Beaudoin backhanded the rebound past Weninger on the powerplay. From a comfortable position, the Stars found themselves back all square in the space of 50 seconds. Johnny Corneil got Storm back to within one at 49:19, before Mitchell Martan beat Brine short side to tie the game at 50:09.

In overtime, Brine and Weninger were both called into action to keep it level, but with things looking like they were heading to a shootout captain Critchlow came up with the goal to win it.
